What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a form of complementary therapy that works by stimulating and supporting the body's own healing mechanisms . Reflexology treats the whole person helping to support emotional and physical wellbeing.
How does Reflexology work?
Reflexologists manipulate reflex/pressure points and nerve endings in the feet or hands that correspond to all of the systems and organs of the body. Over time congestion builds up and is found in the corresponding reflex corresponding to the part of the body that is 'out of balance'. Stimulating and clearing the reflex may restore balance and support the body's own natural healing responses
How can Reflexology help me?
All of us need an opportunity to unwind, relax and re-balance. Reflexology is suitable for all ages and can help with relaxation, reducing levels of tension, improving circulation, reducing inflammation and swelling, promoting restful sleep, reducing pain and boosting the immune system.
What should I expect?
Reflexology is non-intrusive and all my treatments will include a free initial consultation and you will always be advised to allow additional time at your first treatment for this. During the consultation we will discuss your general health, lifestyle and medical history and you will have the opportunity to ask me any questions you may have.
Very occasionally there may be reasons why a treatment is not permitted (contraindicated) or may have to be adjusted to avoid an area. Please contact Alison via phone or email prior to booking your first appointment in order to discuss your individual circumstances.
Please note that under 18's must always be accompanied by an adult
Occasionally it may be necessary to gain medical consent before having complementary therapy, please let me know if you are currently undertaking treatment at time of booking and I will advise if medical consent will be advised.
Healthcare plans & private medical insurance
As a CNHC Registered Reflexologist, you may be able to claim for all or part of your Reflexology treatment if you have private health cover or company wellbeing plan.
*Please always check the details of your cover including the Practitioner requirements and claim evidence requirements prior to booking as these vary considerably from company to company.
